John founded IBG as a sole proprietorship in February 1991.
Despite holding degrees in humanities, agricultural research and physical education, John soon redirected his career to building, drawing from an innate mechanical aptitude and keen eye for detail. In short order John created a strong local general building firm that provided lasting and quality construction, covering the gamut from new construction to renovation and structural retrofit.
After 30-years of successful competitive bidding, with hundreds of commercial and residential projects to his credit, John dissolved the company in 2011 to become director of construction for a large West Coast general construction firm, considering it his retirement job.
After persistent arm-twisting and convincing, his youngest brother William finally got him to acquiesce to a partnership in the second generation of Infinite Builders Group.

William-Arthur began building with his oldest brother, John, as a young teenager. He joined IBG full-time as an apprentice carpenter shortly after the company’s inception, cutting his teeth in framing and finish work primarily on new construction following the Oakland Hills Fire of 1991.
William left the company for university where he studied journalism, following in his mother’s footsteps, returning to build with IBG each summer vacation.
After graduating from San Francisco State University he landed in the United States Virgin Islands covering crime and the Territorial and U.S. District courts for a small daily newspaper. In the subsequent decade, William served as a technical writer, editor and project manager in Sun Microsystems’s Newark manufacturing facility; achieved a Master’s Degree in international affairs foreign policy at Northeastern University in Boston. While conducting foreign elections research and penning academic articles with a senior research fellow at Harvard University, William discovered he had very little patience for theory and returned to journalism, covering law, business and finance for the San Francisco Daily Journal and the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
He incorporated the second generation of Infinite Builders Group in 2012.
